Description
This is a Moghul king procession scene on elephants. King is sitting on a decorated elephant with a rose in his hand. Pearl necklaces around the neck and other ornaments adorning ears, nose, and forehead make them look lovely. In India, animals were decorated with a lot of jewelry and heavily embroidered cloths for the emperors, kings, and queens procession in the past. All the animals in the painting have a lot of gold jewelry like anklets on elephants’ legs, thick cloth with a lot of jewels on it. The color of the base cloth of this painting is magenta. This is a Kishangarh-style miniature painting that has highly exaggerated features like long necks, large almond shape eyes, and long fingers. This miniature is done with utmost care and in minute details, with strong lines and bold colors set in harmonious patterns.
